Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) – Lateral Entry is a program designed for Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) graduates who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. This lateral entry system allows direct admission into the second year (third semester) of the four-year B. Pharm program, reducing the total duration to three years instead of four.

B. Pharm (Lateral Entry) deals with the following subjects –
- Biochemistry
- Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- Pharmaceutical Maths and Biostatistics
B. Pharm (Lateral Entry) is an undergraduate degree that is offered for a duration of 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
- The Candidate must have passed a Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. The Candidate must secure at least 45% (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD) marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Such candidates will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Degree Course subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
- Age: There is no upper age limit for Diploma holders in Pharmacy.
